Foot Pressure Measuring System

Project Aim
To design a pressure sensing unit which gives values of the pressure applied on different areas of the foot using multiple sensors.
Description
Developed the circuit design and created the sensor by experimenting with size, orientation, and thickness. The sensor was designed using cutout of the velostat material with conducting copper strips on both sides of the sheet. This sensor was insulated with plastic so no static current from the body or surrounding could affect the values. After testing different sizes, we finalized a sensor with thickness of 0.1mm with a simple voltage divider circuit using a 1k ohm resistor. We implemented testing with two different styles: Array matrix of sensors & Multi-channel sensors. The final design used multichannel sensors with values plotted in the shape of a sole to visualize pressure distribution.
